5 Lessons to Learn from Watching Star Trek Movies

Star Trek is known as an exploration series. The crew is either exploring a particular area of the universe on their own or is trapped due to an unfortunate incident.

Their primary concern when exploring the universe is to find discoveries and catalog them. Overall, even though there are some exceptions, the crews respect their interactions with aliens.

If they encounter a species that is not as technologically sophisticated as their own They adhere to the “Prime Directive” of non-interference.

At first glance, it can make “Star Trek” sound like an uninteresting show with a group of pacifists describing alien worlds. However, there’s a lot more going on under the surface.

Here are five important life lessons you can learn from watching Star Trek:

  1. Selflessness

Think of the number of times the Enterprise hears a distress message or observes a ship that is stranded. They usually want to immediately come to the rescue, even if it’s to their crew’s disadvantage.

Crew members not only sacrifice their lives to others, but they also offer the opportunity to pursue a career or a life.

For example, in “The Next Generation” episode “Sins of the Father” (1990), Worf willingly takes on a traitor’s accusation for his family to prevent the civil war between the Klingons. Worf’s action effectively renders him an outcast from his family. 1. Diversity

Star Trek broke the barriers of society with every subsequent series. It is apparent after a glance at the main characters.

“The Original Series” (1966-69) included a black woman as well as the first Russian (during the Cold War) and an Asian male in the main cast.

The show is widely cited as having the first-ever interracial kiss. “The Next Generation” (1987-1994) was a show with a large female presence as well as episodes that dealt with issues such as homosexuality as well as robot rights.

  1. Openness to New Experiences

Kirk is attacked by Mogatu which is a bizarrely fake creature, which was cleverly created to death by Will Ferrell in Zoolander.

However, he’s dying with the sole thing that will help Kirk. She has a “Mako” root. Even though she is a ferocious medical professional, McCoy is sufficiently intrigued and would like to learn more.

This shines a light on the importance of being open to new experiences. This lesson is quite valuable for people who have a hard time accepting change.

  1. Depth Behind Reality

In the episode “Turnabout Intruder” a jilted lover of Captain Kirk’s “exchanges” bodies so she can assume control. This is a bizarre story on many different levels, but not the least of which is a scene in which “Captain Kirk” is delicately filing his nails inside his room.

However, there’s an element of truth. After Spock is able to figure out what’s happening then he must convince everyone else that the Captain who appears to be the captain isn’t really who he claims to be.

Naturally, this idea seems absurd. As time passes, Fake Kirk’s behavior makes people question what is “real.”

  1. Growth is Essential

Spock is basically in high-heat and beams down to Vulcan to be a freaky-deeky sexy. He is accompanied by Kirk and McCoy who get their first glimpses into Vulcan culture.

The first person that they meet is the formidable “T’Pau,” who is similar to Queen Elizabeth II and the Pope or General Patton. He respectfully asks an inquiry. However, out of your depth, you might think, that asking a respectful inquiry or two is acceptable. It’s all about growing your knowledge of the world. This storyline is available at kisscartoons and you can watch it to relive the memories.

Final Words

Most people have watched every episode of Start Trek several times these days. But still, you can’t help but feel awestruck by the characters, storylines, and the vision Gene Roddenberry gave us of the future.

Star Trek has stayed with fans and helped shape their view of the world on many levels. The lessons in life that you have to take away from watching Star Trek make it an incredible show for each generation.
