- Portuguese is the only European language on this list, but it’s also one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. There are over 260 million Portuguese speakers worldwide, with the majority living in Brazil.
- French is another global language, with over 220 million speakers. It’s the official language of 29 countries and is spoken on all five continents.
- Arabic is the last language we’ll look at. It’s a Semitic language with around 422 million speakers worldwide. It’s the official language of 26 countries and is the liturgical language of Islam.
