How to Apply
Maldivian nationals travelling to India for Tourism/ Meeting with friends and relatives/ Medical purposes in India do not need PRIOR VISA if their period of stay in India is less than 90 days in preceding six months. All visas to Maldivian national are free of charge.
Following is the procedure for application of Indian Visa Application Online for Maldivians (whenever required) and foreigners
STEP 1:
Fill in the online visa application form: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/index.html 
NOTE: Please ensure that the photo is a recent passport size photograph (2” x 2”) with white background.
Uploading of photograph is mandatory. uploading photo makes processing faster. It might take longer to issue visa if you do not upload your photo while filling your online application form.
STEP 2:
Take a print out of the completely filled form and affix one passport size (2” x 2”) with white background in the first page of the printed visa application form
NOTE: Ensure that the application is signed in two places – at the first page below the photograph and at the last page
STEP 3:
Please submit the printed Indian Visa Online Application form along with visa fee (Click here for Visa fee schedule) and the following documents at the Visa Counter of the High Commission of India, Male’ on any working day between 0930 am to 12 pm.
- Original Passport and Photocopy
- Copy of ID card (Maldivians) or Work Permit card/ Visa (for foreign nationals)

NOTE: There is no visa fee for Maldivians nationals except in case of emergency visa applications, wherein MVR 590/- is charged as Emergency Service fee.
