Places to Visit in Lahore During this Summer

Badshahi Masjid (King’s Mosque), and Shahi Qila

The main structure at the site is similarly made of red sandstone and has a white marble inlay. The prayer chamber has a center-arched niche flanked by five niches that are about one-third the size of the central niche. The mosque contains three marble domes, the tallest of which is in the mosque’s center and is bordered by two smaller domes.

Badshahi mosque’s interior and façade are both designed with ornate white marble carved with a typical Mughal art floral motif. The sculptures at Badshahi mosque are regarded as one of the best and most outstanding examples of Mughal architecture. Rooms for religious education may be found in the chambers on each side of the main chamber. The prayer hall of the mosque can accommodate up to 10 thousand worshipers.

Beside the Badshahi Masjid is the Shahi Qila. The fort is split into two portions: the administrative area, which is well linked to the major gateways and features gardens, and the Diwan-e-Khas for royal audiences; and the military section, which is separated into two divisions. In the north, a private and hidden residential part is split into courts and accessed by an elephant gate. Sheesh, Mahal, big bedrooms, and modest gardens are also included. The blue Persian Kashi tiles decorate the external walls. The ancient entry leads to the Maryam Zamani Mosque, while the bigger Alamgiri gate leads to Hazuri Bagh through the magnificent Badshahi mosque. The zoomorphic corbels show the connection with Hindu architecture. During Summer the Lahore weather will be clear, and you will be able to see huge flocks of birds flying in the air.

Minar-e-Pakistan

As everyone in Pakistan knows that Minar-e-Pakistan is Pakistan’s national symbol and a symbol of the country’s post-British-colonial identity.

The base is about 8 meters above ground level. On the base, the tower rises around 62 m, and the Minar’s overall height is near 70 m above the ground. The flower-like base’s expanding petals reach a height of 9 meters. The diameter is about 9.75 m. The rostrum faces Badshahi Mosque and is made of patterned tiles. Four platforms make up the base. The first platform is made from the uncut stones from Taxila, the second platform is made-up of hammer-dressed stones, and the third platform is made of chiseled stones to show the poor beginnings of the battle for independence of Pakistan. The victory of the Pakistan Movement is represented by the polished white marble chosen for the fourth and final stage. The construction shows crescents and stars, symbols of Pakistani culture, society, and population that are also seen in the national flag.

One of the members of the Building Committee for the skyscraper was Mr. Mukhtar Masood, a prominent writer and the then–deputy commissioner of Lahore. Many additional monuments in Pakistan were built by Services Engineer Mian Abdul Ghani Mughal, including Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, City Hospital in Gujranwala, Chand da Qila By-Pass in Gujranwala, Lords Hotel, and the University of Punjab Campus in Gujranwala.

Lahore Museum

The Lahore Museum is a museum in the Pakistani city of Lahore. Lahore Museum, one of Pakistan’s most visited museums and one of the main museums in South Asia, was founded in 1865 at a lesser location and inaugurated in 1894 at its present location on The Mall in Lahore during the British colonial era. The museum has a large collection of Buddhist artwork from the Indo-Greek and Gandhara dynasties. The Mughal Empire, the Sikh Empire, and the British Empire all have collections in India. The Zamzama Gun, which is positioned just in front of the Lahore Wonder House, is the site of the opening scene of Rudyard Kipling’s book Kim, whose father was one of the museum’s first curators.
