How to Choose Right Colour for mens Salwar Kameez

A traditional style of dress that originated in Pakistan, the Shalwar Kameez has become more fashionable and popular around the world, with even Hollywood celebrities sporting it from time to time.

For men, Shalwar Kameez has been a staple piece of clothing in the wardrobe since its inception but choosing the right colour can be very difficult if you don’t know what to look for.

Below are 5 tips that will help you choose the right colour shalwar kameez for men this season.

Step 1: Try on a lot of different colours

There’s no single colour that suits all skin tones. Black, blue and grey are popular choices for their versatile nature, but they may not necessarily flatter your skin tone. Don’t buy a kurta set just because you think it looks cool—try it on before making your final decision!

If you don’t have access to a lot of different colours, ask your friends or family members if they have any clothing items in similar shades. You can also try shopping at thrift stores to find inexpensive clothing pieces in interesting colours.

It’s better to spend time trying on different options than to end up with something that doesn’t look good on you!

Step 2: Go with your gut

When you’re choosing colours for your outfit, it’s easiest to simply go with whatever feels right. If you feel like a certain colour compliments your skin tone, then it probably does!

It can be hard to make fashion choices on your own sometimes, so if you want more advice (and different opinions) don’t hesitate to reach out and ask your friends or family.

Step 3: Trust expert opinions

You have a few options when it comes to shopping for your first shalwar kameez: You can ask around at your local tailor’s shop, scour through all of your favourite shalwar kameez stores online, or simply browse through expert opinions.

When deciding which route to take, remember that one size doesn’t fit all — so if you’re new to buying clothes from different regions and cultures, stick with expert opinions until you feel more comfortable with your purchase.

Step 4: But don’t rely on them

Before finalizing a shalwar kameez, it is important to take into account your complexion, weight and height. If you’re on the shorter side and wearing an off-white or light coloured shalwar kameez, you may look a little transparent.

On someone of your height, an off-white shalwar kameez can only be worn with a dark green or black shirt. Similarly, if you are slightly overweight, stick to darker colours like navy blue or maroon. These colours will make you appear slimmer than they are.

Step 5: Don’t make the first decision you make your final one.

The world is your oyster and you should try as many different approaches to life as possible. You never know what you might end up enjoying, but if you don’t try it, how will you ever know? Remember: nothing ventured, nothing gained.

So think of a new way to approach something every day; be open-minded and keep an eye out for opportunities that could lead to great things.
