How do you apply for an India Medical Visa?

Introduction

E-Medical Visa for India is designed for foreigners who want to seek short-term treatment in India. Eligible travelers wishing to obtain this type of visa must meet the proof requirements to apply for this visa.

Only travelers who are receiving medical treatment can get this e-visa. It is important to get a letter from a hospital in India where treatment will be given. Holders of an e-medical visa cannot use such visas to visit protected areas in India.

How does e-Medical Visa work?

Obtaining an Indian medical visa is a straightforward process. Eligible travelers who wish to receive medical treatment can easily complete the application by providing some necessary details including their full name, date, and place of birth, address, contact information, and passport data. All applicants must answer multiple security questions and pay the Indian e-Medical Visa fee via debit or credit card. Once approved, it will be sent to the e-visa applicant’s email address for medical purposes.

What is Indian Medical Attendant Visa?

A valid passport and visa are needed to travel to India. A Medical Attendant Visa can be issued to a maximum of two attendants with one e-Medical Visa holder and one person undergoing treatment in India.

The Medical Attendant Visa will be issued only to the family members of the person seeking medical treatment in India. The visa is valid for 60 days and cannot be extended. Foreign visitors must fill out an online application for this type of visa. To successfully apply for a Medical Attendant Visa for India, applicants must also scan the biographical page of their passport.

How does the e-Medical Attendant Visa work?

Eligible country and region applicants can apply online within 7 to 4 days of arrival date in India. Although most applications are approved within 4 days, some applications may take longer to process. A medical attendant visa can be granted to up to two family members with one e-medical visa holder. The Medical Attendant Visa will have the same validity as the e-Medical Visa.

To complete the application, travelers will need to provide some necessary details including the following information: full name, date, and place of birth, address, contact information, and passport data. All applicants must answer multiple security questions and pay the Indian e-Medical Visa fee via debit or credit card. Once approved, it will be sent to the e-visa applicant’s email address for medical purposes.

Additional proof is required for an e-Medical Attendant Visa

In addition to the aforementioned documents, for the e-Medical Attendant Visa for India, applicants are required to provide the following information when filling out the application:

  • Name of the main e-medical visa holder (i.e. patient).
  • Visa Number / Application ID Visa Number of Main E-Medical Visa Holder.
  • Passport number of the main e-medical visa holder.
  • Date of birth of the main e-medical visa holder.
  • Nationality of the main e-medical visa holder.

How long can you stay in India with an e-medical visa?

Once approved, the e-Medical Attendant Visa will be valid for 60 days from the first day of entry into India. Foreign visitors can get an e-medical attendant visa three times a year. However, this type of visa can only be used to travel with someone who has an e-medical visa and is seeking medical treatment in India.
